Latvia is the central country of the Baltic States with a population of two million people, who live in 64 thousand square km territory. Latvia borders with Estonia in North, Russia and Belorussia in East, Lithuania in South and the Baltic Sea in the West. Latvia is easily reachable by air (81 direct destinations to Riga international airport), train (Moscow, Minsk and St-Petersburg), ferry (Stockholm) and by road – either by car or by bus (bus connection with more than 20 countries).

Latvia’s capital Riga – the oldest still existing medieval city, was founded in 1201. The value of Riga's cultural and historical significance has been recognised by the fact that its old city centre has been included in UNESCO's list of the world's most important cultural and natural sites. Having endured many wars, political regime changes and economic upheavals, Riga remains a lively, spirited, and future-oriented city with its own distinct aura, charm and style. But this year is very special for Riga - in 2014 it will become the cultural epicentre of Europe. During its year as European Capital of Culture, hundreds of special events will take place - culture in the very broadest sense. And also we have prepared special excursion for our participants to Riga on the 30th of September (preregistration required until 25th of September)..
